Yogi or Yoga?

I've been going to yoga for a few weeks now. I really like it. I'm even starting to get the hang of it. Sometimes I even make smooth transitions from one pose to the next. But I've got a long ways to go. I have no balance, I'm about as flexible as a wood board, and I have minimal coordination.

So far I'm good at doing Downward Dog. I kind of feel like this.

It may not come as naturally for people, but you can learn to master the downward dog yoga pose!

Someday I'm going to get better but it's going to take a while.

That's awesome that you're doing yoga! I love yoga! This reminds me that I need to start it up again. And yes, Downward Dog is one of my favorite poses!!

You're doing yoga? I'm impressed and jealous, I know I've been talking about it forever and have yet to start it. Maybe over the holidays I'll get it going. What do you do or work off of to learn the moves?

I'm impressed. I've always been totally intimidated (due to total lack of flexibility), but I might just have to give it a try. We do have yoga classes at work, so maybe in 2011...

Lonita - seriously, yoga classes at work? You work at an awesome place! And don't worry, I'm not limber at all and not everyone else is, altho most are more limber than me. I like it when guys come to class cuz they're usually not limber either.

Allison - Savasana (?) is my favorite pose, the one at the end where you lay flat and breathe and forget everything else.

This sounds like a great exercise. Anything to be able to relax and forget the world. Plus you will get better!!! I can image it is hard to go from one position to another in a smooth manner.
You go girl.
